Career Bucket List Item Unexpectedly Fulfilled

I went to college to study everything I loved. What I was going to do with it? I didn't really know, but my plan was to work, figure out what I was good at and enjoyed, and then go back to get my masters.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, I love many things and I work hard at being successful at whatever I put my mind towards, so being "bad" at something was never a deterrent for me - it was always about following my passions, moral compass, and the impact I wanted to make in the world. I firmly believe God gave me hnique talents for a reason, so I should make good use of them.

When people ask what I went to school for, I say Visual Communications because it's easier than explaining it was an Interdisciplinary Studies degree where I studied art, communications, cultural anthropology with a certificate in professional writing. All of this, after having already completed my Associates degree in Business Marketing Management and becoming AutoCAD certified.

Yes, I know, lots of variety.

I worked hard through all my years of schooling and earned scholarships to fully cover what I wanted to pursue. The aftermath? It was all up to me to find the right opportunity.

While I was set on pursuing marketing after graduation and working for an ad agency, God had other plans for me. I've now found a path I enjoy professionally in the corporate world. I found a way to help people, so it feels like I'm making a difference and that's all I really hoped for from my career (besides being compensated, of course lol)

In my recent pursuits of showcasing my art and subsequently joining an art gallery, I started doing more marketing things for the gallery, and things just worked out where I got to design a billboard! I was so excited to see develop it and see it live.

It was one of those things that my younger self would have put into a vision board, because I thought it was so cool to come up with a concept to have others to look at and hopefully smile at during a few brief seconds.

The design process itself was super fun. I created 5 other potential versions, just really letting my imagination go wild. Once I was happy with the options, I sent it to a few of the people from the gallery to get their input. I tweaked a few little things, and it was ready for approval... Seeing the "approved" email was unbelievable.

I loved the colors and most of all, the fact it has a cat with a megaphone It's just absolute purrfection. It adds a little bit of specialness, because I realistically, the chance of this opportunity coming by again is almost non-existant, specially when it combines my love for cats, art, and a gallery I'm proud to be a part of.  All of it combined makes this billboard incredibly special. It's just such a powerfuñ proof that everything truly works out the way it's supposed to... You need to trust God's timing.

With everything going on with my cat and personal life, I didn't think I was going to see it in person... Thankfully, things managed to slow down enough to for my husband drive us to see and take a picture of me with the billboard! It was so exciting.

As soon as we started getting close, and I spotted, I felt so cheesy happy. I'm sure everyone driving by was super confused why someone would take a picture with a billboard... but when it's a bucket list item you never thought possible, it's SO worth the potential judgment lol
